When to
Use Weanermaster:
Weaners slip
in condition after weaning. Stunting of adult frame can occur when
early weaning is associated with poor feeding.
Having spoken
to graziers, property managers and DPI personnel, it is clear that
getting weaners to develop an appetite and efficiently digest available
pastures is recognized as a problem. Weaners have high requirements
for nutrients.
Supplementation
to balance deficient nutrients increases the availability of feeds
and allows the rumen to work more efficiently. While there is forage
available, it is usually more cost-effective to utilize this than
to bring in feed substitutes. However, to utilize the forage for
weight gain in young animals, supplementation of deficient nutrients
is necessary. Then the forage is digested more fully and more is
extracted from what is eaten. It is digested more rapidly, the rumen
empties, and the weaner has the appetite to eat more.
Weaners put
on weight because they get more out of what they eat, and they eat
more of it. Weanermaster is the supplement block for weaners.
